This post is educational in nature and requires that those addressed not have tissue paper feelings as we say here on the Team. It is really nice to see the young conservatives and libertarians stepping out for a just cause and looking good doing it. In this article I am appealing to those of you in this group who are leaders of your respective groups. This doesn’t mean you have to be president of a chapter, but anytime 3 or more people hang out a leader appears. This post is for you.
For the last 3 days and nights I have been here at CPAC and moving amongst you. For the most part you are well behaved and well dressed. That being said, I am a 52 year old veteran and we have some areas that need to improve. You are the future of this nation and with that charge comes responsibility. If you are not disciplined you (and I) will be defeated. We are in for the fight of our lives both here and possibly overseas and you need to be focused.
Alcohol. Just because alcohol is involved does not mean you leave your manners outside. Last night some of us attended a function that was paid for by the sponsoring organization. It was before 9PM, but apparently you had long since lost your bearings. Speaker after speaker got up to the microphone and you would not shut the hell up! I finally had to go right to the stage because of your selfishness. I know it’s all about me in your generation, but you are supposed to be different. Leaders, fix this. When a retired LTC says shut up SHUT UP! It wouldn’t hurt for some of you to go do a tour in the military and come back and take charge of your peers.
One more thing, pay attention to what is going on around you. If you know 500 people just let out of a ballroom, don’t try to snake your way through the crowd, you are not that important. Get the iphone out of your face and watch where you are going. Don’t have that oblivious look on your face and just walk out in the street or parking lot, I watched a half dozen of you almost get run over out there. Learn how to drink before you go out in public, be a leader, and pay attention. I love you, that is all.
