Michael Stevens, a 47-year-old, was arrested for internet solicitation of a juvenile at Itasca High School. It's disturbing that this includes the superintendent of the Itasca ISD. This is one of eight individuals to be detained by police as part of the sting operation.

Stevens was corresponding with an undercover police officer via a social networking app. Stevens was a former coach, principal, and assistant principal in numerous districts around Texas. He believed he was conversing with a girl of 15 years old.

According to Harris County Constable Alan Rosen, Stevens requested nude pictures and films in exchange for sending the investigator shots of his privates.

Rosen said that several of Stevens' images looked to have been taken at his workspace.

Prior to his arrest, Stevens had plans to travel to Houston and have sex with the person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl.

On June 2, Stevens appeared in court for the first time. While requesting a $10,000 bail, his attorney received a $100,000 bond.

Along with being subject to random drug tests, having travel restrictions, and forbidding contact with anybody under the age of 17, he must also comply with several other requirements.

Itasca ISD said on social media that a detective with the Harris County Sheriff's Department had called them and informed them that Stevens had been arrested.

Rosen advised parents to prioritize keeping tabs on their kids' internet activities. This sting operation has shown that there are dangerous predators who are grooming our youngsters and who can do them significant harm.

The board of trustees will meet to discuss the situation and decide on the best course of action, according to Itasca ISD.
