A Note To Lindsey Graham: Nobody Wants This

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, known to Conservatives everywhere as “Lindsey Grahamnesty” thanks to the wit of Rush Limbaugh, seems to be making preparations to run for President. Don’t laugh, I have no idea why he’s doing that, but he is. In the process he will join Gov. Mike Huckabee on the list of Republican candidates that just should have known better.

In an interview with USA Today Graham sealed his fate, as a Republican candidate anyway, by promising “If I were president of the United States, I would veto any bill that did not have a pathway to citizenship.”

Let’s face it; Graham would be a much better Democrat candidate for President than he would be a Republican. The only real difference I see between him and Hillary Clinton is that Graham would probably look better in a dress than Hillary. On the issues that really matter to the country however, neither of the two have much to offer. Hillary has never done a thing to point to as real accomplishments, and she cannot discuss anything else she’s ever done without her attorney present. Graham on the other hand, has spent the past 12 years in the Senate as John McCain’s understudy, and making Conservatives wish he would just switch parties and get it over with. Perhaps he could just work out a deal with Hillary to be her running mate.

There is some speculation that Graham would only be running to make Jeb Bush look more appealing to Conservatives, but that couldn’t be true because Bush has already written off Conservative voters by saying he could win without them. Another more likely possibility is that Graham just got bored since the Senate hasn’t actually done anything in so long, so he figured running for President would give him a fun new way of getting on television.

What is even more baffling than Graham’s decision to run for President however, is why anyone would consider voting for him. Of course, there is no evidence to suggest that will ever happen.
