What a rough stretch of bad luck for one of America’s toughest dance instructors and she just took it another direction.Abby Lee Miller just quit Dance Moms via her Instagram page. Dance Moms is a reality TV show centered around young ballet dancers striving to rise to the top of the dance world with one of the most renowned instructions but she’s had it with the show creators.
According to her Instagram message, she wanted more recognition for the way the show was going and the success she brought the show. I can understand that to a point but if you are under contract you have to suffer your way through until the end and then work it out in contract negotiations.
Abby Lee Miller, the TV dance instructor and Dance Moms figurehead, explained to her fans why she left the show in the long post on Instagram. For the past few weeks, rumors have run rampant that Abby was about to quit Dance Moms. Now, it seems that the time has finally come, with Miller stating on Instagram that she will “no longer take part in Dance Moms.” The Lifetime reality series has been in production since 2011.
Here is her Instagram message:
The majority of children that follow me may be fast asleep, however now is the critical time to make the following statement: I WILL NO LONGER TAKE PART IN DANCE MOMS. FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS/ SEVEN SEASONS I HAVE ASKED, BEGGED, AND EVEN DEMANDED CREATIVE CREDIT FOR ALL THE IDEAS, AWARD WINNING ROUTINES, THEMES, AND COSTUMING – TO NO AVAIL! TODAY, I WAS SO PROUD THAT I WENT AGAINST THE PRODUCER’S IDEA (ONCE AGAIN) TO ENTER A COMMAND PERFORMANCE OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE NUMBERS… “WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN GONE?” ALONG WITH THREE BEAUTIFUL SOLOS! I don’t have a problem working with any kid, I love children and have dedicated my life to making other people’s children successful! I JUST HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BEING MANIPULATED, DISRESPECTED, AND USED – DAY IN AND DAY OUT BY MEN WHO NEVER TOOK A DANCE LESSON IN THEIR LIVES AND TREAT WOMEN LIKE DIRT! #dancemoms #season7 #ALDC #aldcalways #newbeginnings #aldcla #alllovedancecourage
Here’s a video of her current financial struggle:
Producers of the show said they would continue the show and hopefully, she returns to lead the girls. Do you think they should cancel the show amid her absence? Share your opinions below in the comment section.
