Wednesday morning, President Obama introduced Pope Francis at the White House for a scheduled ceremony. But before the Pontiff spoke, Obama spoke for about 10 minutes, and with no surprise, there were at least 5 lies, or at least distortions, made in the speech.
Lie #1: “And to ensure every human is able to live in dignity because we are all made in the image of God.”
Fact: Obama does not include the unborn in this statement. Keep in mind he is the most pro-abortion president we’ve ever had, including support for partial-birth abortion multiple times when he was in the Illinois Senate.
Lie #2: “You remind us of the costs of war, particularly on the powerless and defenseless.”
Fact: Not only does Obama wage a war on the unborn, but also a war on poverty, a war on coal and energy, a war on the middle class, a war on capitalism, a war on jobs, and a war on freedom. He has divided this country to an unimaginable extent and God willing, we need our next president to heal that divide.
Lie #3: “You remind us that people are only truly free when they can practice their faith freely.”
Fact: Except Obama has not allowed everyone to practice their faith freely. Christians in this country nowadays have faced unjust discrimination under this president.
Lie #4: “Here in the United States, we cherish religious liberty.”
Fact: I remember when 41 Senate Democrats attempted a vote to repeal the 1st Amendment last year. It is conservatives and law abiding Americans who cherish religious liberty.
Lie #5: “So we stand with you in defense of religious freedom and interfaith dialogue knowing that people everywhere must be able to live out their faith free from fear and free from intimidation.”
Fact: Obamacare has been the biggest nightmare for the Little Sisters of the Poor. Where’s their voice, Mr. President? You are coercing them to go against their objection of artificial birth control to avoid paying hefty fines. Talk about intimidation.
