Another bold call came from Ted Cruz when he called out the leaders of the Republican party as “effective” Democrats. In a “Meet The Press” interview with Chuck Todd, here were some of the highlights the Texas Senator made.
The truth of the matter is Republican leadership are the most effective Democrat leaders we’ve ever seen. They’ve passed more Democratic priorities than Harry Reid ever could.
He also mentioned his book “A Time For Truth”, reminding the viewers what Cruz calls the “Washington Cartel”, which are career politicians in both parties who “get in bed” with lobbyists and special interests that grow government.
Americans were promised things would change if we won back the House.
Go back to ’09. Republicans told Americans all across the country if only we have a republican majority in the house things will be different. We won a title wave election and very little changed.
After little effect in the House, Cruz mentioned how the same promise was made when they would next win the Senate.
… 2014, millions of Americans rose up. We won another tsunami election, picked up 9 senate seats, retired Harry Reid, had the largest majority in the house since the 1920’s and the position of republican leadership is we can stand and fight for nothing.
He wasn’t finished.
In fact what the republican majorities have done, we came back right after the last election, passed a trillion dollar cromnibus bill filled with corporate welfare and pork, then leadership voted to fund Obamacare, then they voted to fund amnesty, then they voted to fund planned parenthood, and then republican leadership took the lead confirming Loretta Lynch as attorney general.
To contrast, he said it is apparent Congress will not turn around America but will take a conservative in the White House to do so. He believes the reason his campaign is growing is that Americans want someone who will just do what they promise, and Ted Cruz has clearly done everything he said he would do.
