Last Friday, May 6th, an Elgin man allegedly left a voicemail to Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, saying “if I ever see you consider this your death threat.”
Now, that man, Jesse Kumza, is facing a Class 3 felony charge, and in Illinois, that means he faces up to 5 years in prison. His bail was set at $50,000 and the next court appearance is scheduled for May 25th.
The state’s budget impasse is now in its 11th month, since July of 2015. There are many citizens certainly upset with the politicians not coming together, but Kumza clearly took it too far.

And sadly, it isn’t just the governor who has received threats like this. Chicago pastor Corey Brooks had his church burglarized and received death threats shortly after endorsing Bruce Rauner in the 2014 gubernatorial election.
The left has shown their intolerance for those who have different political views, and these are the examples that prove it. Nobody deserves to ever receive death threats, regardless what their political ideology is. I trust that the judicial system will rightfully punish Kumza and anyone else who recklessly chooses to gravely threaten others.
