NOTE: The story is still developing
Police have a right to be concerned and on edge, when someone is threatening others, like the guy in Minnesota was threatening paramedics, and they refuse lawful orders from police, And the Tasers don’t work on you. They then are most likely going to shoot you dead. LEGALLY!!
Authorities say Bettie Jones and 19-year-old Quintonio Legrier were killed early Saturday when police responded to a domestic disturbance call.
The latest shooting happened early on Saturday on the city’s west side, police said.
“Upon arrival, officers were confronted by a combative subject resulting in the discharging of the officer’s weapon, fatally wounding two individuals,” police said in a statement.
The shooting is being investigated by the Independent Police Review Authority, which reviews police misconduct. Emanuel recently replaced the authority’s chief official in response to complaints about the agency’s effectiveness.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the dead as Bettie Jones, 55, and Quintonio Legrier, 19. The Chicago Tribune rendered the name as ‘LeGrier’ but the Medical Examiner could not immediately confirm that spelling.
Both were pronounced dead soon after being taken to hospitals.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel has been under fire lately because of his actions to cover up a street killing of a young black teenager. This will make things so much worse.
Domestic violence situations are the hardest and worst for police officers. The emotions run so high and when weapons are involved. And then the couples involved go back to each other and start all over again. Not good for anyone.
