Linwood Michael Kaine, the youngest son, was one of six taken in custody in St. Paul. He got out of a county jail on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for Tim Kaine released a statement to the Pioneer Press on the issue.
“We love that our three children have their own views and concerns about current political issues. They fully understand the responsibility to express those concerns peacefully.”
St. Paul police spokesman Steve Linders said he was “seen with four people who lit fireworks inside the Capitol.”
Linders also said the arresting officer used “some force” to capture Linwood.
St. Paul police arrested Kaine and the four others near Rice Street and University Avenue, less than a block from the Capitol. After the group ran and a St. Paul police officer detained Kaine, “he turned around and squared up to fight with the officer.”
Although he is not currently facing charges, an investigation is still taking place and may face a misdemeanor.
Do these kids never learn? There are consequences for acting recklessly at any rally.
The left likes to lecture on being tolerant but turn out being the most intolerant.
