This is what happens when you suck as an organization. Will CNN now claim the Russians hacked them? Probably not, the culprits already left their mark.
A group called OurMine was responsible for the hack on CNN, and they left their calling card as you can see in the screenshot below. NOTE: It has been fixed since this opinion but Mashable caught this:
You can lie to the American public day after day but sooner or later they get tired of listening to you, and this will cause a reaction you most likely didn’t think would ever happen. CNN is the butt of jokes these days as they try to tell people to believe in them and they are trustworthy.
I find this very funny, but I do not condone this behavior.
Several Facebook accounts belonging to CNN were hacked by the now well known group known as OurMine.
In addition to the main CNN Facebook account, which was hit just after 10 p.m. on Sunday, the group also hacked the official CNN International and the CNN Politics Facebook pages.
In each case, the group left its logo, along with the message, “Hey, it’s OurMine we are just testing your security, please contact us for more information,” along with a contact email address and a link to the group’s website.
As of this writing, the media organization’s other social media accounts, such as Twitter and Instagram, appeared to be unaffected.
The action follows a similar incident on Saturday that impacted the online presence of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) group. In that case, WWE had several Twitter accounts taken over by OurMine.
