Did He Really Say That? Democrat Lawmaker Cites Need For Illegal Immigrant Voters To Defeat Conservatives

Conservatives have long maintained that liberals supported illegal immigration into this country as a way to import undocumented Democrat voters, and that those illegal immigrants were fraudulently voting in our elections. Now it seems a Democrat lawmaker in Virginia has confirmed that the allegations are true and in fact, told an audience at a community center in Falls Church that the growing illegal immigrant population would be important in turning the tide of the Republican right wing.

State Sen. Dick Saslaw was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1976 where he served until he was elected to the Virginia Senate in 1980. He is the former Senate Majority Leader and currently serves as the Senate Minority Leader. He spoke at the meeting with State Del. Marcus Simon, also a Democrat, to give a summary of legislative action following the first week of Richmond’s legislative session.

According to a report in the Falls Church News-Press, Saslaw was critical of legislation offered by the Republican majority, but assured the three-dozen or so attendees that Gov. Terry McAuliffe would veto anything that was “really scary”. He said that the state legislature was likely to turn more conservative because “two Republican Senators that we know of will be primaried”, meaning they would face more conservative opponents in the next Republican primary.

Saslaw then promised the audience that the problem of the “ideologically pure” Republican right-wing would be resolved as the continually growing illegal immigrant population begins to impact elections.

Did he really just say that? Yes, he did.

Sen. Saslaw cannot be dismissed as inexperienced or on the fringe of his party; he has been in the Virginia legislature for 38 years, is the former Senate Majority Leader, and the current Minority Leader. Saslaw clearly specified illegal immigrants in his remarks, and indicated Democrats were counting on their impact on future elections to counter the growing problem of conservatives in the legislature. Since only U.S. citizens are eligible to vote, and since there is currently no path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, he has just effectively stated in public that Democrats are counting on illegal immigration and widespread voter fraud to override the conservative ideology of legal voters in Virginia, and we can probably assume, the rest of the country.

These statements by one of the most senior Democrat lawmakers in the state clearly indicate the need to use every Constitutional remedy available to stop the President’s executive amnesty plan, and furthermore to put into place effective voter ID laws in every precinct in the nation. With a Presidential election just around the corner, this must become our top priority.
