Cummings sics Lerner on conservative org. Lerner gets caught. Cummings grandstands while Lerner takes 5th. “Oversight” my ass.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has accused the panel’s top Democrat of prompting the Internal Revenue Service in 2012 to target a conservative organization applying for non-profit status.
Issa said records obtained last week from the IRS show communications from the office of ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., about True the Vote, a Texas-based, non-profit conservative group that aims to prevent voter fraud.
The timing and nature of information requests the IRS and Cummings’ office sent to True the Vote strongly suggests that the congressman was working with Lois Lerner’s office to target the voter fraud prevention group. True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht filed a formal ethics complaint against Cummings earlier this year for unjustly targeting True the Vote.
Now these recently released emails indicate that Cummings was working with Lois Lerner, the former IRS director of the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division, who has repeatedly invoked her 5th amendment right not to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Cummings is currently the ranking Democrat on that committee.
Cummings denies any wrongdoing.
