Anyone who has ever watched as the Left does not get their way in any given argument knows the results are not pretty. There is a lot of yelling and screaming, name calling and threats. Trying to reason with them is just an exercise in futility.
The most recent recipient of leftist wrath, the Hobby Lobby craft store chain. Monday, in a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby, saying that the company, owned by a Christian family, should not be forced to include certain kinds of contraception in their employee health plan. These forms of contraception are known as abortifacients, and can kill a fertilized egg in the mother’s womb. This goes against the Christian beliefs held by the owners of the corporation.
As soon as the decision came down, liberals, especially feminists, went crazy. Of course, the “war on women” narrative was quickly dragged out. Hobby Lobby was accused of not caring about their female employees and their reproductive rights. The conservatives on the Court just want to deny access to all forms of birth control to all women. Certainly a clear violation of their rights. Since when did birth control become a right?
You’ve got to hand it to them. Feminists can get organized in a hurry if they think their “rights” are about to be violated. They are quickly armed with talking points, signs, and a healthy dose of nerve. Facts don’t seem to deter them in their quest to strong-arm and bully anyone who disagrees with them. Facts like the health plan that Hobby Lobby offers to employees does, in fact, cover sixteen of the twenty types of contraception that are approved by the FDA. The only ones not covered are things like “morning after” pills, designed to halt a pregnancy.
But nothing will stop the Feminist Mafia. They believe that their small group of radicals speaks for every woman in America. They inflict their mob mentality on anyone who does not immediately subscribe to their ideology. If things do not go their way, the level of rhetoric, untruths and misinformation is limitless. Because after all, the ends justify the means. This is usually followed by brute force in the form of lawsuits and boycotts.
In the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision, there is in fact talk of a Hobby Lobby boycott. They have been deemed “not woman friendly”. The Democrat Party is dutifully trotting out narratives like; “Republicans want to permanently limit a woman’s right to reproductive health choices”. Republicans want to keep women down and in their place”. This is ultimately designed for one thing: to gain new Democrat voters, primarily among young women. These voters are needed not only for the November mid-term elections, but to prepare for 2016 should Hillary Clinton announce her intention of a presidential run.
But there is one thing the Feminist Mafia has not counted on. American women care about so much more than “women’s issues” like birth control. They care about jobs and the economy. They care about America’s influence, or the lack of it abroad. They care about the education of their children. American women are clearly not defined by the fact that they are women. Therefore, they care nothing about making someone else violate their religious beliefs because they believe contraception is a right, and one that should be paid for by someone else.
What the Capos and Enforcers of the Feminist Mafia plan next for Hobby Lobby is not yet known. Unfortunately, this case must be a warning for people of faith who have employees.
Keeping the Feminist Mafia out of the business practices of average Americans who just want to run their businesses in accordance with their faith, is an offer you can’t refuse.
