Are you having a bad day? Well, you can take solace in the fact that this 12-year-old Taiwanese boy probably had a worse day than you.
The 12-year-old was in a museum when he tripped and lost his footing. Naturally he reached out to steady himself. Unfortunately, he reached right through a 17th-century painting by Paolo Porpora valued at over $1.5 million.
TST Art of Discovery Co. released the surveillance video along with a statement saying they will not be seeking damages from the boy’s family, but will instead ask their insurance company to pay for the restoration.
The painting was successfully restored by art restorer Leo Tsai. The painting was on display as part of an exhibition that featured many of Leonardo da Vinci’s works.
What did you feel about this unfortunate situation? I feel for this young kid and hopefully it can be restored. Add your thoughts below in the comment section.
