I have two words for the 3 Democrats who co-sponsored a Republican bill in Colorado that would repeal a ‘high capacity’ gun control measure: Well Done!
SB 175, the Senate bill originally sponsored by GOP State Senators Chris Holbert, John Cooke, and Steve Humphrey, is a measure aimed to repeal the ‘high capacity’ magazine ban that outlaws the sale of any magazine in Colorado with more than 15 rounds.
The 3 Colorado Democrats are Kerry Donovan, Cheri Jahn, and Leroy Garcia.
Although it is only 3 so far, it is a good start. In today’s divisive, partisan split of a political environment, it is nice to see both sides of the aisle work to oppose legislation that cracks down on our 2nd amendment rights.
Colorado happens to be the same state where the constituents made their voice loud and clear, in which two Democratic state senators were recalled in 2013 after trying to push new gun control legislation.
There was also the time in 2013 when President Obama’s massive gun control push failed in the U.S. Senate, despite it being heavily democratic at the time.
It is no wonder the right to bear arms seems to get more bipartisan support than most other issues because it cannot be written any clearer in the Constitution. Our right to bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
