Sorry people, many “Americans” feel this election isn’t so much about conservatives vs liberals anymore. It is about the very survival of the USA. We don’t have time for niceties and preliminaries or playing footsie with the GOPe. This is war, and all of those at the bottom of the polls need to drop out so we can move this thing forward.
Rush Limbaugh was not happy GOP front-runner went after surging Ted Cruz on a couple of issues.
“That’s so unlike Trump. I mean, that’s a huge mistake. But on paper, it’s a huge mistake. Trump gets away with his mistakes. Such is the bond of loyalty that his support base has for him… Any of you who are holding out hope that Trump is a genuine conservative…a genuine conservative would not go after Cruz this way.”
“I don’t know what kind of damage if any this gonna do to Trump because, frankly, folks, if you look at Trump’s support base, the majority of it is not conservative. In fact, if you look at the Trump support base. And I’ve maintained this for I don’t know how long. It seems that the — if you look at the demographic makeup of Trump’s support, it’s exactly what the Republican Party claims they want.
There’s a lot of independents in there, there are a lot of different ethnic groups in there, but it’s it is not majority conservative or Republican base. There’s a sizable number of them in there.”
And he admitted it kind of “raised a red flag” for him.
Cruz is a great candidate, better than everyone else in the field except for Trump and I am not speaking on policy, I am talking about connecting with people. He would have been taken out long ago by the media and replaced by Marco Rubio (the establishment’s pick) if it weren’t for Trump.
Trump kicked the door off of the PC bedroom and now someone like Cruz even has a chance. My fear is that Cruz will be destroyed if Trump is taken out. He doesn’t have the broad appeal that Trump seems to have with independents and even democrats. This will be an interesting race for the next couple of months.
It would be great if both were there at the end and it were up to the voters but in Cruz’s case, he needs to appeal to more than the social conservatives as they will not lead him to victory by themselves. There just aren’t enough true social conservatives left in this country.
