After the terrorist attack in Nice, France, the presumptive GOP nominee is trying to find a way to be respectful and still announce his vice presidential pick. Many have said it’s Indiana Governor Mike Pence, but some think that’s still up in the air.
Everyone by campaign manager Paul Manafort:
“I think that Mr. Trump has reached a decision, but he hasn’t — he isn’t prepared to announce it yet.”
“Until he announces it, you know, there’s no formal nominee. I mean, the reality is we were going to have an event today,” Manafort said. “He was moved by what happened last night. It affected him and emotionally, the carnage like Paris and the idea that this is just nonstop and seems to be happening quicker and quicker in more and more places was bothersome and he thought it was totally inappropriate in the aftermath of that tragedy to do something even as important as what he was going to do this morning. So he said he wanted to just take a little time. It wasn’t a matter of taking time to rethink things; it was a matter of taking a little time” to honor the people affected.
