Moms’ Demand Vs. Chipotle

I previously wrote an article on the pro-gun control group Moms’ Demand Action persuading Jack in the Box to reverse their open-carry firearm policy in their restaurants. This time, they’re attempting to get Chipotle to cave as well. The group, which is heavily supported by Michael Bloomberg, demanded Chipotle to not allow guns in response to law-abiding Texans carrying their guns into a Dallas restaurant.

Chipotle released a statement on Monday, saying “the display of firearms in our restaurants has now created an environment that is potentially intimidating or uncomfortable for many of our customers.” Although they haven’t officially banned their open carry policy yet.

Moms’ Demand filed a similar petition as they did to Jack In the Box, to reverse Chipotle’s open carry policy. It is also no surprise that they characterize law-abiding citizens as ‘extremists’ within the text.

Shannon R Watts, the head of the draconian anti-gun group, led the #BurritosNotBullets hashtag on Twitter to attempt at getting social media attention to the issue, and Michelle Malkin’s fantastic Twitchy group reported various tweets from pro-gun control advocates. The ironic part about the hashtag is that there aren’t any bullets because law abiding citizens don’t shoot guns in public in the first place unless it is for self-defense.

So the bad news so far is that Moms’ Demand has gotten Jack In The Box to cave in while attempting to do the same with Chipotle. However, the good news is that Chipotle only asked that citizens don’t bring guns to their restaurants, not officially reverse their open carry policy. This is significant to point out, because Moms’ Demand and other pro-gun control groups are claiming victory over this, but don’t let them fool you. The same went with Starbucks, where the CEO didn’t officially reverse their open carry policy, but only asked for carriers to not bring them as well.

Let’s keep up the good fight and fight for the Constitution and our second amendment rights. Liberals will always play the guilt card on us for supporting the right to bear arms, but we must always remember that criminals will never follow the law anyway and target gun free zones.
