New Black Panther Party Cry “Frame-Up” “Bold-Face Lie” on Members Arrested for Bomb Plot

Two members of the New Black Panther Party planned to blow up the Gateway Arch and kill Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson and Prosecutor Robert McCulloch in St. Louis. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, their plan was foiled after the men purchased a pipe bomb from an undercover police officer and attempted to buy two more pipe bombs, but could not afford them because one of the suspect’s girlfriend’s Electronic Benefit Transfer card needed more funds.

The men arrested, Brandon Orlando Baldwin and Olajuwon Ali Davis, were looking to avenge the death of Michael Brown.

Davis, who calls himself the “minister of law” of the New Black Panther Party’s Missouri chapter, told supporters at an October rally that Michael Brown’s shooting was “not the first … and it won’t be the last, if we do not unite” the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

The New Black Panther Party released a statement, calling the allegation a “bold-face lie” and a “frame up.”

The New Black Panther Party, in a FBI report titled “The 2013 National Threat Assessment for Domestic Extremism”, said the organization “funds extremist activity through both violent and white-collar crimes and target, [U.S. government], military, and law enforcement personnel and facilities in retaliation for alleged oppression and past wrongdoing.”

“They have the potential to respond to racially charged social and political events with violence.”
