According to ProFootballTalk, the Philadelphia Eagles as a team, including the coach plan to protest the United States National Anthem. They want to say if because of social justice, I say it’s because they are punks.
Let’s see; you guys make millions from us fans, right? Well, how about us fans just go away? No more fans, no more money. You all are protesting the wrong thing.
You guys are just hurting the NFL. We don’t care about your protest. You don’t get paid for that. Your sponsors don’t pay you for that. GET A GRIP and quit the stupid already!
The NFL can end this quick, just stop showing the protesting players on the tv broadcast, just focus on the flag and whoever is singing the anthem. Don’t bring it up in the broadcast, don’t mention it on sports center, don’t report about it in the paper, don’t put it on social media. When everyone realizes that they’re not getting the attention anymore, all this will go away.
“Everybody wants to be a part of it, and I feel like it’s no different on our team,” Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins told Glen Macnow of WIP in Philadelphia on Friday, via CSNPhilly.com. “We got guys, especially myself, who feel very strongly about the topic. Last week, we talked about doing some stuff, but we wanted to make sure we didn’t do anything to take away from the folks, the families, that suffered from 9-11. We didn’t want to mess with that day, so we left last week alone. But moving forward, I’m sure there will be guys that will probably join in.”
Jenkins said he possibly would one one of the players who participate in the demonstration.
“For me, it has nothing to do with this country or the flag or the anthem in itself,” Jenkins said. “Really, it’s just to continue to push for the conversation about social injustice. And that’s a range of things from police brutality to wages and job opportunities to education. It’s just a lot of things systematically that have been set up in this country, since its inception that really put minorities, especially African-Americans, at a disadvantage, when you’re talking about quality of life and actually growing in this country.
“So we want to continue to keep that conversation going and push it to as many people as we can. Obviously, while also doing our part in bringing forth change. And I think, obviously, this has been a hot topic and the more players that join in, the further this conversation goes. And I think after the initial shock of what happened and once everybody started to listen to what [Colin Kaepernick’s] message was, it’s become a really good conversation that’s going on nationwide. I think every player has an opinion and definitely wants to share, use their stage to do better.”
Jenkins said that coach Doug Pederson is aware of the plan, and that he is “OK” with it.
Wonder if any of the Eagles will visit the black female sergeant who was ambushed on Friday night and shot eight times by a suspect who left a letter expressing his hatred for the police?
The thing is people aren’t so much talking about “Black Lives Matter” as they are talking about disrespecting our Flag, our Anthem, and our military that fought for their right to protest. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force. I would never even look into what they want because they have lost all respect in my eyes. They are no longer worth my time. All the NFL players that are protesting should try improving their neighborhoods.
Try a little constructive improvement instead of just protesting and expecting everyone else to make the improvements. Get your kids involved with the police in a good way early so they don’t end up on the other side of a gun. I wish the TV stations would just stop televising their craziness – do it all you want but don’t force us to watch the disrespect.
