Panthers QB Cam Newton walks out on post-game interview after Superbowl loss

Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson lost last year, and he still presented himself with class and integrity during the post-game press conference. He even blamed himself for the loss. He gave praise to the New England Patriots. He went out there with his head held high. He did not throw himself on the ground and had a temper tantrum; He did not pout and act like a sore loser. He answered questions and didn’t just walk away like a big cry baby.

In fairness to Panther’s QB Cam Newton, you could hear the Broncos celebrating loudly celebrating over a thin barrier. But he’s not doing himself any favors with the way he handled an admittedly difficult time.

Cam’s answers consisted of mostly one-word responses like “no” and a discussion about being outplayed.

We got outplayed.

We got outplayed, bro.

We lost.

They just played better than us. I don’t know what you want me to say. They made more plays than us and that’s what it comes down to. We had our opportunities. We dropped balls, we turned the ball over, gave up sacks, errant passes. That’s it. They scored more points than us.

I’ve heard the questions that the reporters normally ask. What did you expect him to say? You could see how disappointed and upset the entire bench was. And then you want to hound them with questions? And all on national TV. I couldn’t believe some of the questions they were asking during the game.
