Well I certainly wouldn’t be proud of being honored in the name of Margaret Sanger, but I’m sure Nancy Pelosi is thrilled.
Next week, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America will present House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) with the Margaret Sanger Award. The award is the group’s “highest honor” and is named for a woman who believed in breeding better humans through eugenics.
I’m not at all surprised by this, but the blatant hypocrisy of those on the left still astounds me. They will paint the right as the ones who aren’t compassionate, yet will rejoice being honored by an organization that is the nation’s leading abortion provider. They will rant about fairness and tolerance, yet receive an award in the name of a woman who vocally expressed her support for eugenics. Yes, this same woman published an article titled, “Birth Control and Racial Betterment.” How does that fit in the left’s narrative of equality?
Granted, a women who just made the statement that Obama was the most “nonpartisan a president as I’ve ever served with” is obviously not playing with a full deck but can she truly not get how this “honor” is in the name of a woman who desired to eliminate the “undesirables?” Dr. Alveda King had this to say:
“It’s true that Congresswoman Pelosi deserves Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Award—almost no one has done more to promote the killing of innocent babies in the womb than she has,” noted Dr. King. “If Mrs. Pelosi wants finally to take her role as a public servant seriously, though, she will reject the award named after a racist woman who had no problem speaking to a Ku Klux Klan meeting.”
Pelosi is slated to receive this award at Planned Parenthood’s gala on March 27th. This is just another reason why we need to continuously promote efforts to maintain a majority in the house because Nan taking that gavel back truly gives me nightmares.
