The discussion centered on Vice President Joe Biden’s assertion during last night’s debate that the White House was never given any information about requests for more security at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya before the Sept. 11 attack that killed four Americans.
Questions have also arisen over whether budget cuts factored into the lax security around the Benghazi compound.
At one point, Beckel argued that if the Bush administration had better communication, then the 9/11/01 attacks could have been prevented.
“That’s outrageous and you should take it back,” Perino said. Beckel stood by his statement.
