While addressing graduating cadets at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Wednesday, President Obama spoke to them about what he feels is an immediate threat to our national security. What could this threat be? Is it ISIS? Domestic terrorism? Rioting and looting? No. Apparently, climate change poses a greater threat to our national security despite recent findings that global warming isn’t quite what the left would have us believe. The President again spoke of his ambitious plan of action to address climate change, stating that if climate change is allowed to continue to go unchecked it would cost the country hundreds of billions of dollars.
The President blamed Congress for their inaction when it came to addressing the issue of climate change, either through denying that it exists, or its refusal to deal with it altogether. He stated that by failing to deal with the issue, Congress was endangering, and undermining our military, and in turn, creating an unnecessary threat to our national security. President Obama said, “Climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security, an immediate threat to our national security.” He went on to say that Congress’ continued inaction on the issue constitutes “a dereliction of duty.”
If anyone would know about dereliction of duty, it would be President Obama. This President has been anything but presidential. He kowtows to terrorist states, turns his back on our allies, and works daily to destroy our nation from within. He has stripped our military of much of its seasoned leadership, as well as many of the men and women who have given their best to our nation. A key piece of his plan to fill our military with illegal immigrants failed to make it past the goalie. He had hoped to fill our military with people obligated to do his bidding. The biggest threat to our nation’s security can’t be found in the ozone layer, but at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
