Rep. Mo Brooks, the Tea Party House Representative trying to secure Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ Senate seat in a special election Alabama race, was shocked President Trump endorsed Luther Strange.
Strange is backed by Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has poured money into the candidate’s campaign. Brooks has called for the ouster of McConnell as Senate Majority leader after the Obamacare repeal failed.

According to AL.com, Brooks was endorsed by seven Alabama Trump delegates including State Rep Ed Henry. Brooks also has the backing of Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Mark Levin, all well-known conservatives. I guess this is where the grits hit the pan, eh?

Strange, who has the backing of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and his super PAC, Senate Leadership Fund, has been lobbying Trump for his support. The president finally endorsed Strange Tuesday evening in a Twitter post. It could make the difference. Alabama has been one of the states where Trump’s support has been the strongest.
“I respect President Trump, but I am baffled and disappointed Mitch McConnell and the Swamp somehow misled the President into endorsing Luther Strange,” Brooks said in a statement. “The President has bigger things going on than a campaign, that’s for sure. In any event, while Mitch McConnell and the Swamp managed to mislead the President last night, I still support the America First Agenda, and all the polls show we have momentum. We believe our message will win out over the Swamp and Lyin’ Luther.”
Brooks was slow to embrace Trump in 2016 after he secured the GOP nomination. The congressman had backed Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in the presidential primary.

Even with Trump's endorsement, Luther Strange isn't going to win. No more RINOs! Primary his ass, Alabama!

So, Donald Trump endorses Luther Strange…
A RINO who will help Mitch McConnell block everything Trump tries to do.
Makes sense, right? https://t.co/KnZ8EDUk4Y

Important, in next week's Alabama GOP Senate Primary. President Trump has decided to weigh in, backing Senator Luther Strange.

As you can see, Strange is not the choice for those who believe in Trump’s “Make America Great Again” agenda. I do not trust anyone in fingertip reach of McConnell. Remember, the Senate voted to bind Trump’s hands during their August recess on appointments. They also removed his ability to waive sanctions against Russia in the bill they produced before going on a vacation they promised not to do.
As I stated before, I support Make America Great Again but Strange won’t contribute to making that happen.
