Saturday I was privileged to be able to attend an Anti-Bullying fund-raiser for Aolani and her family in Carrollton, Georgia. You see Aolani is 8 years old and is the victim of an extremely cruel bullying attack. Belinda Bee and the 2 Million Bikers To D.C. organized this event after hearing about this bullying attack and felt compelled to contact Aolani’s family and get the word out to conduct the fund-raising rally on Aolani’s behalf.
There were people from Maryland to Florida in attendance. Team Ninja Members Wayne Dupree and Stacy Rush, me and my beautiful wife Cindy were there to support this family and Aolani. The support shown for this dear child is amazing. The local community might not be readily accepting any responsibility or even concerned enough to make sure that this never happen again. But that doesn’t belay the fact that there are children in the Carrollton Georgia community who have learned to be bullies.
The sad fact is that Aolani felt that she had nobody she could call an ally. Nobody to call upon to take a stand with her against the bullying. There could be nothing further from the truth. She NOW knows that there are Americans who care enough about her to travel for hours to show those who think that bullying is merely a nuisance and they have no idea that they are wrong and the bullies have lost. We are there for all the Aolani’s out there.
So you see little ones we are in this Nation together and we will help you and help put an end to this learned behavior. You are not alone. You are NEVER alone.
And as the Rev. Steve Standridge, of the CLEM United Methodist Church put it so sweetly….
“Remember that without love we can’t move towards gods glory. Love brings us together”.
So if you see it happening say something, Don’t be afraid because you are not alone.
