Let’s cut right to the chase, you know the story. If you don’t, then our very own Wayne Dupree has already covered it for you with the following link:

Did the officer use excessive force? Well, that depends on a few things. Was this person called in because this teen had a shotgun and was shooting up the classroom? Did the teen assault or threaten the officer? Was the teen attacking someone, and required being yanked off? Based on what we SEE in this video, the answer to all of those questions would be no.
The video shows us what it shows us, and we must base our opinions on the facts as we have them. In this writer’s opinion, this officer could have handled this in a better way. Slamming a kid around like a rag doll is never acceptable.
Oh, I see all of the commentary from people, “She should respect authority,” and so on. While I agree, and often encourage individuals to not resist, I maintain that officers should know the level of force that is required in addressing a situation.
This man was too forceful, and unless the teen presented an active threat, this is not justified. Especially in this day and age where we are trying to improve officer/civilian relationships.
I am not anti law enforcement, but I have said often that officers need to use common sense. They are not the ultimate authority.
