Saudi Arabia, Egypt and a few more countries have severed diplomatic relations with Qatar due to terrorist ties.

Mid-dEast developments today should convince those who view everything through sectarianism to re-evaluate their arguments.

I kinda saw Egypt coming. Didn’t think Saudi and UAE would let their ego get in the way. Bahrain was a complete shock. Qatar says the move by four countries to cut diplomatic ties is “unjustified and based on baseless allegations”

Saudi Arabia on Monday announced severing diplomatic relations with Qatar, state news agency reported. Saudi Arabia also announced that it was cutting air and sea contact with Qatar.

“The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, exercising its sovereign rights guaranteed by the international law, and protecting national security from the dangers of terrorism and extremism, decided to sever diplomatic and consular relations with the State of Qatar,” the statement read.

Qatari citizens were given 14 days to leave Saudi Arabia following the severing of ties.

Also, it has been announced, that the Saudi-led coalition cancelled Qatar’s participation in Yemen operation, citing al-Qaeda support.

The statement comes just after Bahrain announced cutting diplomatic relations with Qatar.
