The Sept. 7 incident happened near the Notre Dame, Canada border crossing area, according to a press release by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
a Canadian citizen and an American man were arrested by a U.S. Border Patrol agent for illegally entering the US according to the U.S Customs and Border Protection.
These two men were walking a dirt road with mountain bikes when they were questioned by a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.
Both men were arrested and transported to a U.S. Border Patrol station for processing, and then turned over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which fined them each “a $5,000 civil penalty under 19 USC 1459 for Failure to Report,” stated the press release. The men have 30 days to pay the massive fine.
Chris Cabrera, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council in Texas, recently claimed that one of the undocumented immigrants involved in the shooting of Border Patrol agent Javier Vega, Jr. was deported several times and only fined $10, noted Breitbart.com.
According to the legal site NOLO.com, if undocumented immigrants are caught in the U.S. there are numerous legal options for them to fight deportation.
To add to this weirdness, the Canadian citizen was immediately deported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
