Should Rachel Maddow Be Prosecuted For Releasing Illegally Obtained Trump Tax Returns?

On Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow tweeted she had President Trump’s 2005 tax returns, and she would give more info on her show.

For those who watched this event, she led them on for about 20 minutes before she delivered Trump’s 2005 tax return. It was two pages showing he paid $38 million dollars on over $150 million dollars earned that year.

Her guest stated he found them in his mailbox, so he delivered them to MSNBC. According to the tax code, it’s illegal to publish someone’s taxes, and if you do, there could be a penalty of jail time awaiting for you. Maddow is claiming she’s under the 1st amendment protection.
