It is difficult to report any new stories on days like these. These are the special days where we remember all of our fallen military men and women who made the biggest sacrifice to protect our freedom. Plus, it is never too old to stress the fact that freedom is never truly free. Our enemies hate freedom and want to impose their restrictions on us, and we can never fully pay back for all they have done to serve us.
Despite all the memories and gratitude 99% of Americans have for our veterans and military, there is always the 1% of those who always have to chime in and show their bigotry towards these heroes. Twitchy reported a short list of some individuals posting these hateful tweets. However, they have the constitutional right to make those remarks, because their first amendment rights are also protected by our veterans, whether they acknowledge that or not.
This sacrifice they make is why the VA Scandal is beyond upsetting. If anyone in America deserves health care, it is these individuals. Yet, we hear story after story of individual veterans dying from long waits and not being treated for bad health. Regardless whether one claims this problem stemmed before Obama, we now know that he was aware of this VA problem since 2008, and hasn’t done anything to solve it for the past 6 years.
Not only have I had it with some showing a lack of respect for our heroes, but so has most of this country. Sadly, our disgraceful pop culture treats rich, liberal Hollywood actors, actresses, and other elites with more respect. If only these ignorant people realized that they wouldn’t have Hollywood and their freedoms without our veterans, maybe they would think a little differently. These organizations, such as TMZ and others, are more obsessed with what type of Starbucks drink a celebrity is drinking, and it is despicable. Nevertheless, I’m still grateful that most people in this country with common sense show their respect for veterans, today, tomorrow, and every day that we can live with freedom and liberty.
