Last night I received an email from Kathleen Sebelius, the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, in it she wrote:
“Today marks the fourth anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act. Since its enactment, millions of Americans have benefited from the law. Here are just four of the reasons we have to celebrate today.
1. 5 million people covered: Since October 1, more than 5 million people have signed up for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
2. Bending the cost curve: We’ve held down national spending growth in health care to the slowest rate in a half century.
3. Free preventive care: Today, most health plans have to cover recommended preventive services free of charge, benefiting 71 million Americans.
4. Strengthening Medicare: Today, the Medicare program is stronger than ever. Since enactment of the Affordable Care Act, 7.9 million seniors and people with disabilities have saved $9.9 billion on prescription drugs, or an average of $1,265 per beneficiary. ”
Last week during a press conference, Ms. Sebelius was asked; “how many people actually paid for their plan” her response was, ” she does not have that information.” Not one person, from the mainstream media had the cojones to ask her; how she could possibly know, how many people were enrolled in Obamacare, without knowing who paid for it.
Once again, the American people are supposed to believe the numbers this administration tells them, with out any tangible proof. These tactics will help the democrats win the house, unless we expose the truth.
Obamacare has caused over six million people to lose their insurance. When the employer mandate goes into effect, millions more will lose their policies. According to a recent report by The Congressional Budget Office (*CBO), Obamacare will push about 2 million workers out of the labor market by 2017.
By the White Houses own estimation, up to 80 million people on employer sponsored plans will lose their healthcare insurance, when the employer mandate goes into effect. The Obama administration is counting on them to sign up for Obamacare.
Obamacare is a scam and the numbers are a fake. We need to get the message out to the people and not rest on our laurels. Remember the words of John F. Kennedy, “The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic.”
*The CBO, is a federal agency within the legislative branch of the United States government that provides economic data to Congress. The CBO was created as a nonpartisan agency by the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974.
