In the immortal words of Hulk Hogan, “let me tell you something brother.”
Hulk Hogan, the former WWE wrestler, won the biggest match of his life today as a jury of his peers felt the news magazine Gawker pried into his life, and did irreparable harm to his image and persona.
Gawker published pieces of Hogan’s sex tape on their website without permission from him, and now they have to pay!
A Florida jury sided with ex-pro wrestler Hulk Hogan on Friday and awarded him $115 million in his sex tape lawsuit against Gawker Media.
The jurors reached the decision less than six hours after they began deliberations.
The jury awarded Hogan $55 for economic injuries and $65 million for emotional distress.
Hogan, dressed all in black including a black bandana, cried when the verdict was announced.
Over the course of two weeks of testimony, the jury heard from Hogan, whose given name is Terry Bollea, Gawker CEO Nick Denton, and multiple expert witnesses.
Hogan sued Gawker for $100 million for posting a video in 2012 of him having sex with his former best friend’s wife. Hogan contended it was a violation of his privacy.
“With a click and upload, it turned this man’s life upside down,” Hogan attorney Kenneth Turkel said.
Congrats Hulk Hogan! And Bill Clinton starts wondering if he can get any money from his sex scandal. Bye bye, Gawker. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of scumbags. By the way, Chapter 11 won’t help you.
Do you think it was too much or did the jury get it right. It only took them six hours to deliberate. Hogan’s jury was very sympathetic to his situation. Share your comments (below) and add this story to your facebook/twitter page.
