I don’t know why Chuck Todd has a show but this latest “blame everyone” for the VA shooting incident is crazy as the day is long.
What Todd doesn’t realize is that the violence coming from the left is toxic. Republicans aren’t dealing with shooting anyone or beating anyone up for who they believe in. This is all promoted by the media who put all of this on their TV coverage night after night creating more sick humans with warped thinking.
Todd is trying to gloss over the violent hatred of the left versus the measured disgruntled right-wing base. Republicans do not go burning down buildings or standing in the middle of the highway stopping traffic or running liberal speakers off of college campuses just because we don’t agree on the discussion. This is the Democrats and the media promoting it for their purposes.
Folks, some want to blame the left or the right or us in the media. But here’s who it seems too many folks don’t want to blame themselves. We are all to blame. This toxic stew that passes for political discourse seems beyond repair in the current moment. Just look at social media.
For too long, our collective politics has demonized the other side for caustic behavior while rationalizing that same behavior when it comes from someone who shares their politics.
Maybe we ought to borrow another phrase that we’re all asked to do, when you see something, say something. And for political leaders, when you see caustic behavior, no matter if that person agrees with you, why don’t you say something to them?
Todd can’t be serious but what’s sad is that he is serious. He believes his own written prepared statements, and that’s why things won’t be fixed until he and the rest of the media filth can look inside themselves to see the amount of havoc they are spreading over this country.
