UNREAL! Charter School Has 2nd Graders Hold Anti-Police Rally

Brace yourself. A story of school officials appears to brainwash 2nd graders into participating in an anti-police rally during their recess regarding the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. This took place last Friday at the Alma del Mar Charter School in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Some of the signs the kids were holding included ‘honk for justice.’ Yes, they act as if there was no justice at all and there was no rigorous investigation. Despite all the evidence reviewed and witnesses that testified, there is clearly an agenda here. Facts don’t count.

Will Gardner, the executive director of the school, made the following statement:

A group of scholars played on the playground while other scholars held their demonstration without incident.

We discourage our teachers from sharing their own political and religious views with their scholars. We certainly want our scholars to engage in activities that help them to understand what it means to be citizens and what it means to be a democracy.

Somebody want to remind Gardner that we’re a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, not a DEMOCRACY?! I wouldn’t want to have teachers who don’t know the difference between a republic and a democracy teaching my kids if I ever have any.

Gardner claims that the protest was the students’ idea and took place after a lesson on the First Amendment.

George Borden, a police officer whose 7-year-old child attends the school and participated in the protest, was nothing short of being upset, which is understandable. He did not condone the protest and, contrary to what the school claims, believes it wasn’t the kids themselves who came up with the idea.

Borden was alerted of the event by a friend of his who drove past the school and witnessed the protest.

I fully agree with Mr. Borden. I’ve never heard of any 7-year-olds rallying up an anti-police protest all on their own. In fact, I’m sure most of them do not even know the general details of the Ferguson and Garner cases without parents or school officials telling them about it.

I have some more questions for this school:

Did they tell the students that looting, violence, and making death threats are not included under the First Amendment?

Did this school ever hold protests regarding all the black on black shootings that take place almost every day in Chicago?

Did this school ever hold a protest when the roles of skin color were reversed?

Did this school ever hold a protest when a police officer was gunned down in cold blood?

I bet the answer to all those questions is NO.

And this isn’t just one school, but it is happening all across the country. These liberal professors are brainwashing kids from grade school up to college. They claim it is about ‘diversity’ yet turn a cold shoulder when it is black on black or black on white crime, and this school is no exception. It is hard for me to believe that the school had nothing to do with gathering a bunch of 7-year-olds to run a protest. If they want to talk about the First Amendment, well we also have the First Amendment right to call out school officials who are pushing an ideological agenda.
