While the band played the national anthem during the opening ceremony, he panned the camera around the room, catching everyone standing solemnly at attention with their right hand over their heart.
And then the cameraman zeroed in on one woman, Helena Andrews, intently texting on her smartphone, oblivious to what was going on around her. Andrews works with the Washington Post and should have been more aware of her surroundings.
We are figuring some of her friends saw her and immediately contacted her to inform her of the disrespect which prompted this response:
Apparently someone saw me on TV "texting" during the dinner. FTR I was taking notes. On my phone. Because it's 2015. #WHCD
