One major tidbit to remember during the next week….the sequester is not a cut. Did you know, revenue is estimated to go up 8% every year, which is stupid. When you make your budget, do you automatically assume that your going to make 8% more every year? Here are a few things that I have compiled while listening to the experts speak on the the possibility of no deal to stop the sequester!
1. Will The Sequester Hurt Economic Growth? The economy shouldn’t be based on government spending. Short term, this will hurt alot of families and contractors to the government. Long term it’s better for the economy because it will stop dependancy of the government.
2. Will The Sequester Help The Economy? Yes, less government is always better for long term economy.
3. Who Is Responsible For The Sequester? Barack Obama and Jack Lew. However, It might have been the White House’s idea but Congress passed it. Nobody should point fingers at things they signed. It’s like the dog and pony show of McCain about Haggel. McCain grandstands and then will vote him in anyway?
4. Is The Sequester The Only Opportunity For Spending Cuts? Will the Executive branch ever “just pass spending cuts?” No. This money has already been spent and this executive branch will not work with the legislative branch. Taxes have already been raised.
The next four years Obama and Reid have already shown that they are happy and content with the budget and laws put in effect in Obama’s first two years. Even with spending cuts of the sequestor, and the raise in taxes of the rich, there is still going to be high unemployment, high deficts, and the affordable health care is going to break americas back. As much as Obama wants to blame others, he is Americas CEO. He is responsible for what happens in his presidency, even though he wants to pass the blame on others.[fbcomments]
