Watching the Democrats struggle to field a viable candidate for President has been somewhat enjoyable and downright entertaining. I had it all figured out – with a weak Democrat field such as this, Republicans were sure to be in a position to elect a genuine Conservative and get this country back on track – until I had a thought that wiped the smile off my face.
Republicans desperately need to help the Democrats find a viable candidate, and we need to do it soon.
Why, you might ask? Given the current lineup, there is little for a Democrat voter to choose from. Hillary Clinton is making the transition from inevitable to unsalvageable at a record pace, and the remaining field is so bad Joe Biden is beginning to look like a possibility. Some people would say this is great news for Republicans, but don’t believe that for a second.
With no viable options in the Democrat field, it is very possible, and I believe very likely, that Democrat voters will abandon their own primaries and cross-over to the Republican side to vote for one of the Democrats running for the Republican Presidential nomination – and the Democrat front runner for the Republican nomination is Jeb Bush.
Don’t think they would do it? Does the name Thad Cochran ring a bell?
This scenario is not just a possibility, it is a probability and there is evidence to suggest there is a plan already being put into motion. Back in April Jeb Bush picked up the virtual endorsement of amnesty activist Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) who said Bush was their best GOP chance of passing amnesty.
Now, as Bush finds himself lagging behind Donald Trump, both he and other Democrats are beginning to get nervous. According to a story in Bloomberg Politics, Bush recently attended a fundraiser in the Hamptons where he actively courted Democrat donors.
Remember when Bush boasted that he didn’t need Conservatives to win the White House? This is how he plans to do it.
