YOU BIG DUMMY! Atlanta radio host faked Trump interview and now he’s unemployed!

Longtime Atlanta radio host Steve McCoy is no longer with NewsRadio 106.7, following an apparent fake interview with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The interview aired earlier this week on the radio station. Friday morning, the radio station’s general manager Sean Shannon issued a statement to 11Alive saying:

“For obvious reasons Steve McCoy no longer works at the station.  Cheryl White, Drew Nelson and Randy Wyles will continue to provide Atlanta with a high energy news product that accentuates breaking news as well as in depth coverage on the top stories.”

The Trump campaign pointed out the bogus interview Thursday afternoon.

“This interview did not take place,” Hope Hicks said. “It is a fraud and/or a spoof. The Trump campaign has never communicated with this man. He said we spoke to him (Tuesday) prior to the debate- we never spoke to him (then) or any day before that. The radio host admitted it was a fraud to our attorney, apologized and he is now hiding and not returning anyone’s call. This is representative of the dishonesty Mr. Trump faces from the media.”

The GOP front-runner conducted numerous press interviews last week during a rally in metro Atlanta.

McCoy began working with NewsRadio earlier this year. McCoy is best known around Atlanta for this 18-year career as morning radio show host on Star 94.
