After the dust has cleared, the GOP candidates are speaking out about the CNN debate on Wednesday night and a few of them aren’t holding back.
Governor Scott Walker attacked the style of the debate as it got away from the issues Americans wanted to hear and focused on differences between them and Donald Trump. Walker also stated during an interview with Glenn Beck the Media Would’ve Said Fiorina Won Debate “No Matter What,” while Marco Rubio said CNN set up the debate like it was a pay-per-view boxing match.
Here is Walker’s exchange with Beck:
There are a lot of social media timelines not happy with the format with 11 candidates up on stage and the original 2-hour scheduled debate becoming three hours for probably advertising purposes.
Front-runner Donald Trump joined Sean Hannity to add his voice to the debates, and as you will find out, he was in “The Donald’s” form. Here are a few takeaways:
“It was too much, it was too long, and I would imagine at a certain point, people get bored with that,” Trump said.
“I would say this, it was a little bit like WWE,” Trump said, likening the debate to the professional wrestling organization run by his friend Vince McMahon.
Trump explained that it seemed like every question had to do with him and was designed to instigate a conflict between candidates.
“Everything was about ‘Trump said this, Trump said that.’ And even when the question wasn’t asked to me, they were saying, ‘Trump said this. How would you respond?'” Trump said. “I think, probably by far, I was asked the toughest questions. But the voters all said I won by a lot, so we’ll see. I guess in the end it doesn’t matter.”
Here is Trump’s interview with Hannity:
