The 10 Reasons Why I Won’t Vote Donald Trump If He Wins Nomination #SuperTuesday

The 10 Reasons Why I Won’t Vote Donald Trump If He Wins Nomination #SuperTuesday

After a lot of thinking and consideration, I’ve decided that I cannot in good conscience support Donald Trump even if he is the GOP nominee.

Here are 10 reasons why.

1.) Supports universal health care

Donald Trump lied during Thursday’s GOP debate when he told Ted Cruz that he doesn’t believe the government should pay for everyone’s healthcare. But back in September, Trump said so during a 60 minutes interview.

He also admitted to liking the individual mandate under Obamacare.

2.) Neutral between Israel and Palestine

It’s very troubling when the U.S. President refuses to fully support Israel, who is our closest ally in the Middle East. Although Obama has shown his disdain towards Israel, Trump’s neutral stance isn’t much better.

A couple weeks ago, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough asked Trump whose fault it is in the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Here’s Trump’s response:

I don’t want to get into it for a different reason, Joe, because if I do win, there has to be a certain amount of surprise, unpredictability.

Let me be sort of a neutral guy, let’s see what — I’m going to give it a shot. It would be so great.

We’ve already had a president for the past 8 years who did not support Israel. We don’t need another president saying he’ll be neutral on it for the next 8 years.

3.) Eminent domain abuse

Donald Trump doesn’t just support eminent domain for the use of roads and bridges, but to literally use it even if it is against the will of a homeowner. For example, he didn’t just ask, but in 1993 tried to force over the home of an Atlantic City resident to expand his hotel and casino. When she said no, he took her to court, in which he lost and wasn’t happy about it.

She made a terrible mistake. I was going to expand a hotel, put in thousands of rooms. I had the one house in the way. We would have had, probably, 1,400 employees getting jobs. She was offered four, five, six times what her house was worth. Eventually we couldn’t do it because one court ruled against us.

4.) Crackdown freedom of speech

The most common example of this in recent months was when National Review’s Rich Lowry poked fun at Trump. In response to one of the GOP debates in which Carly Fiorina got the best of Trump, Lowry said she “cut his balls off with the precision of a surgeon.”

Trump’s response? Use the FCC to silence Lowry. So much for freedom of speech for those who have opposing views.

5.) Very malleable, no principles

Don’t just take my word for it. Former President Jimmy Carter even said he would endorse Trump over Ted Cruz if he had to choose between the two.

6.) Supports abortion and Planned Parenthood

Although Trump claims he just doesn’t want to fund the abortions, there is no escaping the fact that abortion makes up an overwhelming majority of Planned Parenthood. They’re the largest abortion provider in the nation, and chances are that any amount of money funded to one aspect will be funneled to cover abortions. So Planned Parenthood shouldn’t receive one pennyworth of federal funding. Period. Since they create plenty of revenue, the government has no business of taking our taxpayer dollars to benefit them.

7.) Donations to Hillary Clinton, Democrats

Trump has had ties with Hillary Clinton for years and gave money to many Democrat candidates, including Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. He always likes to say that because he is a businessman, he has to get along with everyone. But getting along with everyone doesn’t mean he has to give money to every candidate. There are plenty of principled businessmen who choose to only donate to those who share their views. The fact Trump has given so much money to Democrats and GOP Establishment candidates shows he does not stand for principles.

8.) Supporter of amnesty

As recent as 2013, Trump tweeted in support of amnesty if the border became secured. And no, 2013 is not “a long time ago.” It is just 3 years! Since its okay to go after Hillary Clinton for her recklessness behind the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack, it is also okay to go after Trump for supporting amnesty in 2013. It is all fair game.

9.) Similar Obama traits

Trump has many similarities to Obama: Both are narcissists, both are compulsive liars, both support left wing policies, both want to use the federal government to silence political opponents, and both are receiving support without being fully vetted. In 2008, all the liberals supported Obama because they wanted to make history by supporting the first black president without looking at his policies. In 2016, supporters of Trump like that he’s loud, aggressive, and “says it as it is”, without vetting his shady past as well. Their similarities are real and should scare all of us.

10.) No conservative values

Has there been a single issue that Trump has ever held a conservative view for most of his life? He flip-flops on amnesty, flip flops on Planned Parenthood, and flip-flops on gun control just to name a few. And after all his flip flopping, he still admits he supports universal healthcare and the individual mandate in Obamacare. As Jimmy Carter mentions, Trump is very malleable and is very capable of changing on an issue.

All these reasons combined is why I agree with Senator Ben Sasse, who was one of the first elected GOP politicians to announce they will never vote Trump even if he is the nominee. No candidate is too big to be vetted, and that includes Trump, whose past and present views on many issues should make those leaning towards him to seriously take a second look at who they should support.

Keep in mind that I would consider voting for Trump if he was the nominee, only if he wasn’t as bad as Hillary Clinton. However, with all the views and actions of his, I have no doubt in my mind that he is as bad as Hillary, therefore, I can’t vote for him. If he is the nominee, I am either writing in Ted Cruz or voting 3rd party.
