I’ve been to West Virginia many times I have friends that Live there and are struggling to make ends meet. The people of West Virginia are some the best Americans you will ever meet as they love this nation as you can see when you drive through almost every town.
Brock Obama said he was going to bankrupt the call industry as a junior Senator running for the White House in 2007. He’s done everything that he can’t during his tenure as president to hurt coal families and mining towns.
For some of these families coal mining has been passed down from generation to generation and what Obama did is inexcusable and unforgivable. It seems as if the coal Association of West Virginia has decided to put their trust in the GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump.
Trump Will be speaking to a crowd in Charleston, West Virginia tonight.
From The Hill:
“Trump has said he will reverse the Democratic regulatory assault that has cost the coal industry more than 40 percent of our production and jobs since 2008,” Bill Raney, the group’s president, said in a statement.
“In contrast, Hillary Clinton’s proposals essentially double-down on the job killing Obama policies,” he said. “West Virginia can’t afford that and neither can the nation.”
The coal group said it believes that with Trump in the White House and Republican Bill Cole as West Virginia’s governor, the state will be able to recover from President Obama’s “War on Coal.”
Coal has taken center stage in the run-up to West Virginia’s primary. The state has been hit particularly hard in recent years by the coal industry’s decline, which is due to a combination of factors like competition from natural gas and regulations.
Clinton is actively trying to shake off an anti-coal image, which she earned in part during a March event where she said she would “put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”
This rebuke of Hillary could be huge in November as Democrats seem to win West Virginia every election. This year it’s different and could possibly shift things toward the GOP side.
What do you think of the association’s endorsement and do you think it will matter during the general election in November? Share your comments below.
