BEHNA: These Four GOP Members Of Congress Criticize Trump’s Executive Order On Refugees
Under the most recent count, at least 4 GOP members of Congress have some sort of criticism to different degrees with President Trump's executive order on refugees.

In the most recent count, at least four GOP members of Congress released statements criticizing President Trump’s Executive Order on refugees.

Below are their statements.

U.S. Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ).

U.S. Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE).

Representative Justin Amash (R-MI 3rd District).

His statement on Twitter is the longest and most critical of Trump out of the four members.

Representative Charlie Dent (R-PA 15th District) statement.

I urge the admin to halt enforcement of this order until a more thoughtful and deliberate policy can be instated.

Over time, there could be more Republican members who criticize the order, but time will tell. In my view, an excellent column written by National Review’s David French separates the facts from fiction. Although he criticizes how green-card holders are being affected by the order, he points out that this is not a Muslim ban, contrary to what the mainstream media has been reporting. Also, it places a cap of admitting 50,000.

French explained in more details.

So, what did Trump do? Did he implement his promised Muslim ban? No, far from it. He backed down dramatically from his campaign promises and instead signed an executive order dominated mainly by moderate refugee restrictions and temporary provisions aimed directly at limiting immigration from jihadist conflict zones.

The order temporarily halts refugee admissions for 120 days to improve the vetting process, then caps refugee admissions at 50,000 per year. Outrageous, right? Not so fast. Before 2016, when Obama dramatically ramped up refugee admissions, Trump’s 50,000 stands roughly in between a typical year of refugee admissions in George W. Bush’s two terms and a typical year in Obama’s two terms.

The liberal mainstream media is once again distorting many parts of the Executive Order.

Is it a Muslim ban? No.

Does it ban all refugees? No.

Is it completely different than Bush’s and Obama’s policy? No.

So despite the facts, we have thousands of angry rioters storming airports across the country, blocking commute, who have almost no idea what the order entails.

While these four GOP members have some criticisms, the media once again lies about what it does.
