Actress Huffman Released On $250K Bond In College Admissions Bribery Case

On Tuesday, actress Felicity Huffman was charged in connection of paying a bribe to secure her child’s college admission. She was released on a $250,000 bond

Huffman, “Desperate Housewives” star is to have her travel restricted to the continental United States.

Reports are that Huffman, paid $15,000 to that she disguised as a charitable donation so her daughter could take part in the college entrance-exam cheating scam.

What’s so beautifully ironic here is; these hypocrites are the ones out championing all the leftist staples like affirmative action, minority quotas, etc., and now it’s those very policies that are the reason they have to write checks to get their kids in these schools.

This has been the way with rich “liberals” forever: publicly they are in favor of these policies because its good PR, but they would never dream of their kids being subjected to those policies (bussing was another). They know they have the cash to buy their way out of them, let the middle class’ kids deal with it.

The actress, dressed in a black sweatshirt, glasses and her hair pulled back into a ponytail, looked visibly tired in court Tuesday as her lawyer argued she should be released on her own recognizance because “she is not the kind of person who is going to become an international fugitive over this matter.” But the prosecution would not accept that based on her net worth. Fox News has learned that Huffman and Macy have real estate assets in excess of 20 million dollars and stocks around 4 million.

Macy, 69, dressed in a gray jacket and blue jeans, took notes during his wife’s hearing. He looked engaged and focused on the terms of Huffman’s release as they were being read aloud.

Huffman’s defense pushed back after the prosecution requested that the actress not be able to communicate with her husband as he is a witness in the case but the judge balked at the request and excluded him from known witnesses or subjects that she may not be in contact with. The cultural prestige of elite colleges and universities continues unabated. However, the quality of their actual product- an educated young person- has severely declined over the past many years. A community college graduate with meaningful skills is far more valuable to society than an angry activist Yale grad with a “studies” degree.

Rich people use their wealth to propagate continued success both inside and outside the rules. The penalty for getting caught breaking these types of laws is not significant enough to prevent others from doing it.

This does make a difference to those of us who have children who are taking college entrance exams as it alters, even if only in a small way, the scale and makes it more challenging for people to get into some universities.

Any punishment these people get is well deserved.
