Jordan: Americans Want To Know When Is Somebody Going To Jail For Wrongdoing During Trump-Russia Investigation

Rep. Jim Jordan is asking the questions many Americans want to know and that is why Inspector General Michael Horowitz is not being called to testify on his “scathing” report on former FBI director James Comey.

Horowitz delivered a “damning report” on Comey’s conduct and has referred him for possible prosecution under the classified information protection laws, however, the Department of Justice prosecutors under Attorney General William Barr decided not to prosecute Comey for the alleged infractions.

Jordan: “You know what people want to know? They want to know when someone is going to jail. More often than not, when I’m walking through an airport or something, people walk up to me, ‘When is somebody going to jail for the wrongdoing that took place in the Trump-Russia investigation, or even the Clinton investigation?’

I get that question all the time, and you can’t get to the bottom of that if you don’t get all the information out there. And what better opportunity than to bring in the inspector general to answer our questions?”

Count me in that number. The more we see, the clearer it becomes that the Deep State tried to remove a President with whom they disagreed by launching an unjustified politically motivated investigation hoping at least to goad a President into a perjury trap. If this goes unpunished, another attempt certainly will happen, and, in the end, one will succeed and the country will be irreversibly lost.

The dozens involved in the treasonous activity that has been accurately referred to as a silent coup. Perhaps the number is hundreds, especially when you start holding the lying members of the media as accomplices to the attempted coup.

I am more convinced every day that no one is going to go to jail and that not much is going to change. Christopher Wray, the current FBI director, is fighting tooth and nail to prevent the release of any of the McCabe-Comey-Strzok emails. You have to wonder whose side he is on. It certainly isn’t the side of truth and transparency. Most of the “deep state” bureaucracy is still out there and still doing the bidding of the left. Not much has changed and it looks like not much is going to change, sadly.

While no prosecutions would not be a huge surprise, it would be a lost opportunity in Trump’s re-election campaign. He does need help in some areas of the country where folks are on the fence. Maybe the deep-state can convince him that prosecutions are unnecessary because simply shaming those responsible is enough (in their view), but Trump will look weak.

How would it look if people caught up in what is being called a soft coup against the President of the United States went free? How many more participated, but were not caught? The damage to Trump’s image, and worse, to the reputation of the Intel Community would be irreversible. Public confidence in law-enforcement would be forever changed.
