On Monday, podcaster, and writer for the Daily Wire, Michael Knowles went too far when he called a teen mentally-ill, in an attempt to be funny during an interview on Fox News.
It was a dumb move to begin with. Knowles doesn’t know the mental state of the young girl, only that she’s being used by adults to promote an agenda which he should have stuck with but he was trying for the money shot and he bombed.

That’s the day we live in, folks. These people try to be as crazy as the left and but don’t realize the left has done it longer and are not rookies. Did he think he was going to get away with calling the young girl “mentally-ill?” Knowles said she was mentally ill and when Fox News’ other guest called him out and demanded an apology for making this statement, Knowles claimed the teen had “many mental-illnesses.”
A Fox News spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday night that the network has “no plans” to book conservative podcast host Michael Knowles as a guest again after he referred to 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg as a “mentally ill Swedish child.”
Knowles, who hosts The Michael Knowles Show for The Daily Wire, made the remark during a Monday night news program on Fox News. After pushback from progressive guest Chris Hahn, Knowles said that Thunberg has “many mental illnesses,” including depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Thunberg, who sailed to New York to speak at the United Nations General Assembly about the urgency of climate change, talks openly about having Asperger syndrome, which she calls her “superpower.”
“The comment made by Michael Knowles who was a guest on The Story tonight was disgraceful — we apologize to Greta Thunberg and to our viewers,” the network said in a statement, adding that Knowles won’t be back as a guest.
Several groups that advocate for those living with Autism spoke out against Knowles’ comments in statements to THR.
When haters go after your looks and differences, it means they have nowhere left to go. And then you know you’re winning!
I have Aspergers and that means I’m sometimes a bit different from the norm. And – given the right circumstances- being different is a superpower.#aspiepower pic.twitter.com/A71qVBhWUU

The Autism Society released a statement saying; “To intentionally demean any person, regardless of neuro-diversity, is both cruel and wrong. Certainly some might disagree with Ms. Thunberg on policy issues, but it is shameful to issue a derogatory statement to a youth advocate.”
Julia Bascom, executive director of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network said; “It’s absolutely unconscionable to attack someone for their disability, especially when that person is a child. History is full of autistic people and people with other cognitive disabilities who were and are compelling, credible activists and leaders. Greta is a part of that tradition, and our community is lucky to have her. Period.”
Conservative voice Ann Colter supports Knowles language however:

You can say what you want publicly because that is your first amendment right but there are consequences to your lunacy. “Conservatives” have lowered themselves to get down in the dirt and act like progressives instead of getting in the dirt and defeating the left with logic. You can’t beat these people at their own game, haven’t you learned that yet. You haven’t been in the game long enough to know their strengths and weaknesses.
Pres. Trump was able to defeat the Democrats because he did it his way using their tactics but you are not Trump. If you don’t know if the teen is mentally ill, don’t say it. Use other ways to be funny if that’s what you are trying to do. Knowles failed.
