Botham Jean’s Brother Brandt Jean Embraces Amber Guyger Following Her Sentencing — Stuns Courtroom!
In Brandt's shoes, I don't think I could ever forgive the person who took away one of my siblings, but it's clear that Mr. and Mrs. Jean raised two fantastic young men.

Let me say that my heart is hurting and I feel so bad for the family

A jury found former Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger guilty of murder and sentenced her to 10 years in behind bars for the killing of her neighbor Botham Jean. It turns out that Guyger had been found to have sent some racist text messages during also, but that didn’t stop Brandt Jean, Botham’s younger brother from forgiving her in an emotional exhibit not heard of, ever.

In extraordinary scenes in the courtroom a few minutes after the sentence was handed out, the victim’s brother, Brandt, said he forgave Guyger.

Brandt Jean: “I love you just like anyone else, I’m not going to say I hope you rot and die just like my brother did, but I personally want the best for you”

It was almost like a shot heard around the world. The courtroom was in shock and as you could hear gasps in the video below.

Brandt’s heart-wrenching message on the witness stand where he told Guyger that he forgave her and that he didn’t want her to go to jail was followed up by wanting her to find Jesus Christ, which is what his brother would have wanted.

That alone showed me just how much strength this young man has. The courtroom was taken aback by his willingness to forgive Guyger. Even the Judge was crying, and the cop looked broken after they hugged.

Brandt Jean: “I love you just like anyone else and I’m not going to hope you rot and die. I personally want the best for you. I wasn’t going to say this in front of my family, I don’t even want you to go to jail. I want the best for you because I know that’s exactly what Botham would want for you.”

Brandt Jean, who had already stunned the courtroom took it up a notch and asked the judge for permission to embrace Guyger.

Brandt Jean: “I don’t know if this is possible, but can I give her a hug please?”

Judge: “Permission granted,” and the two tearfully embraced.

In Brandt’s shoes, I don’t think I could ever forgive the person who took away one of my siblings, but it’s clear that Mr. and Mrs. Jean raised two fantastic young men. This young man has a beautiful heart.
