Flashback: Obama Fired Every Single Bush Appointed Ambassador in 2008
I'll tell you one thing these impeachment hearings have done - they've really shined a bright light on the absolute state of hypocrisy in the Democrat Party.

Today was the second day of public hearings in the impeachment inquiry, and it was as pointless as the first one, maybe even more so.

The former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch was today’s witness. She spent the better part of her time whining about being “transferred” to another position. Of course, the media and liberals have been saying she was “fired.”

No, she was not fired.

“Marie #Yovanovitch was removed from her post as Ambassador to Ukraine. She’s still a State Dept. employee and a fellow at Georgetown. Trump didn’t “fire” her. He simply transferred her. Can this get any dumber?”

The media and liberals are also trying to paint this woman as some “victimized” martyr who was “unjustly” fired. Meanwhile, if Democrats really cared about ambassadors, wouldn’t they be more outraged over Christopher Stevens, who was murdered thanks to Hillary and Obama’s incompetence?

“If Democrats are SO UPSET about an ambassador having her feelings hurt… just wait until they find out about what happened to that ambassador in Benghazi.”

However, even if she was actually fired, who the heck cares? Most liberals don’t even realize that when Obama was elected he fired all of the Bush ambassadors.

This is exactly how the Washington Post reported on the mass firings back in 2008:

The incoming Obama administration has notified all politically-appointed ambassadors that they must vacate their posts as of Jan. 20, the day President-elect Barack Obama takes the oath of office, a State Department official said.

The clean slate will open up prime opportunities for the president-elect to reward political supporters with posts in London, Paris, Tokyo and the like. The notice to diplomatic posts was issued this week.

Political ambassadors sometimes are permitted to stay on briefly during a new administration, but the sweeping nature of the directive suggests that Obama has little interest in retaining any of Bush’s ambassadorial appointees.

People get fired and transferred every day. Why is this even a discussion at an impeachment hearing?

Democrats reiterated time and time again during Friday’s public testimony that they were angry at Yovanovitch’s “sudden dismissal.”

Yet, nobody had a problem with Obama doing the same thing when he became president in 2008?

I’ll tell you one thing these impeachment hearings have done – they’ve really shined a bright light on the absolute state of hypocrisy in the Democrat Party.

The former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch testified Friday about President Donald Trump firing her amid an alleged “smear campaign,” but firing ambassadors appointed by former presidents is commonplace.

Former President Barack Obama fired all ambassadors appointed by former President George W. Bush in 2008, The Washington Post previously reported. Yovanovitch testified Friday that the Trump administration, including the president’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, “kneecapped” her. She said State Department leaders did not support her after being recalled in May.

“Political ambassadors sometimes are permitted to stay on briefly during a new administration, but the sweeping nature of the directive suggests that Obama has little interest in retaining any of Bush’s ambassadorial appointees,” WaPo’s 2008 article about Obama’s decision to fire all political ambassadors reads.

Yovanovitch was appointed by Obama in 2016, and newly elected presidents typically re-vamp the positions with their own choices once taking office. Yovanovitch was allowed to stay on for three years after Trump took office, but has testified that senior officials “declined to acknowledge” the “smear campaign” against her leading up to her firing, Politico reported.
