Well, Folks, It Finally Happened…The bottom has Just Fallen Out of The “Woke” NBA

The NBA Commissioner is scrambling right now, trying to get rid of any and all BLM and political messaging from his league, as the entire bottom begins falling out of the National Basketball Association.

So, what’s happened to the King James NBA?

Well, for starters, LeBron has absolutely destroyed it, top-to-bottom and inside out.

LeBron James has proudly and arrogantly led the NBA down the doomed SJW path, not giving a damn what the fans, who pay his salary, thought about it.

Once again, US organizations and corporations read the room wrong and jumped into full “BLM” support after the death of George Floyd, not considering for one moment that 1) Americans don’t need social justice or politics in their sports ever and 2) Americans can feel bad about George Floyd without supporting Marxist BLM.

These companies and sports franchises will learn the very hard and painful way that just because a small but very loud mob supports social justice and progressive politics, doesn’t mean the silent majority does.

And it looks like school is already in session. Breitbart is reporting that the NBA has suffered another ratings disaster, with ABC falling 45 percent since the 2011-12 season, while TNT was down 40 percent, and ESPN was off 20 percent.

This ratings tumble is nothing new, granted. The past two NBA finals each have fallen one over the other, with last year’s down 51 percent to an all-time low for the championships. The worst was the final game, off nearly 70 percent year-over-year.

So far, the average viewership for the league’s games is only 2.83 million, according to The Athletic. For comparison, recent episodes of the NBC crime drama, The Blacklist, average about 3.3 million viewers, while one of ABC’s biggest shows, medical drama, The Good Doctor, averages just over four million per week. Historically, sports out earns any regular TV series.

The NBA’s collapse may not be surprising in light of recent polls finding that basketball fans feel that the league has become far too wrapped up in politics.

In September, a Harris poll found that 39 percent of respondents who identified as sports fans felt that the NBA had become too political, and 19 percent said that they had turned off pro basketball because of the NBA’s deep links to China.

Sports are meant for playing a sport – not preaching politics or social issues. If a player wants to do that, they can do it on their own time, or they can put their money where their mouths are and run for office.

Now, the NBA Commissioner is saying that they’re going to leave the “BLM” and politics off the court: “My sense is there’ll be somewhat a return to normalcy, that those messages will largely be left to be delivered off the floor. And, I understand those people who are saying, ‘I’m on your side, but I want to watch a basketball game.

Sorry pal, but it’s a little too little, and way too damn late.

But how dare these arrogant, spoiled, low-info millionaires use the viewing publics’ time to alleviate their own personal guilt for being “rich” by pandering to groups like BLM, looking to score progressive brown points.

Shut up, and go grab a shovel and clean up a filthy Dem-run neighborhood, or offer free basketball camps for poor kids, or open a youth center in a troubled community.

Painting BLM on a court is just silly and useless nonsense. If these players want to support BLM, they can go join a riot on their own time…It’s summer, I’m sure they won’t have a problem finding one.
