New Details Emerge On Upcoming Jussie Smollett Criminal Trial

Nearly three years later, and Jussie Smollett, the wannabe “victim hero,” who stands accused of staging his own “hate crime,” will go on trial next week. Officials say jury selection will begin on Monday. But we have a couple of updates on what to expect in this trial from the two Nigerian brothers, as well as Jussie’s likely fate should he be found guilty.

USA Today reported that the prosecution’s key witnesses will be the brothers, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, who say Smollett wrote them a check to stage the attack. They are expected to characterize Smollett as the star and director of an “attack” in full view of a surveillance camera that he mistakenly believed would record the whole event.

Jussie didn’t realize that the camera was facing the other direction and his entire “movie” was never recorded.

And, according to their lawyer, the brothers will also describe how Smollett drove them to the spot where the incident was to play out for a “dress rehearsal.”

“He was telling them ‘Here’s a camera, there’s a camera and here’s where you are going to run away,’” said their lawyer, Gloria Rodriguez.

Smollett was charged with felony disorderly conduct after law enforcement and prosecutors said he lied to police about what happened in the early morning hours of Jan. 29, 2019, in downtown Chicago.

He has pleaded not guilty.

Disorderly conduct, a class 4 felony, carries a sentence of up to three years in prison but experts are saying that it is more likely that if Smollett is convicted he would be placed on probation and perhaps ordered to perform community service.

And that’s what we call “liberal privilege.”

And nowadays, “liberal privilege” far outranks any white privilege that might still exist.
